Characteristics of geotextiles
1. High strength: Due to the use of plastic fibers, it can maintain sufficient strength and elongation in both dry and wet conditions.
2. Corrosion-resistant, it can resist corrosion for a long time in soil and water with different levels of acidity and alkalinity.
3. Good water permeability: There are gaps between the fibers, so it has excellent water seepage performance.
4. Good antimicrobial properties: It is not damaged by microorganisms or insect infestation.
5. Convenient for construction: Due to its light and flexible material, it is easy to transport, lay and install.
6. Complete specifications: The width can reach up to 9 meters. It is the widest product in China, with a unit area mass of 100-1000g/m ²
The functions of geotextiles
1: Isolation
Polyester staple needle-punched geotextile is used to isolate building materials with different physical properties (such as particle size, distribution, consistency and density, etc.), such as soil and sand, soil and concrete, etc. To prevent the loss and mixing of two or more materials, maintain the overall structure and function of the materials, and enhance the load-bearing capacity of the structure.
2: Filtration (reverse filtration
When water flows from fine-grained soil layers into coarse-grained soil layers, the excellent air permeability and water permeability of polyester short-fiber needled geotextile allow water to pass through while effectively intercepting soil particles, fine sand, small stones, etc., to maintain the stability of water and soil engineering.
3: Drainage
Polyester staple needled geotextile has excellent water-conducting performance. It can form drainage channels within the soil mass, allowing the excess liquid and gas in the soil structure to be discharged outward.
4: Reinforcement
Polyester staple needle-punched geotextile is utilized to enhance the tensile strength and anti-deformation capacity of soil, improve the stability of building structures, and thereby improve the quality of soil.
5: Protection
When water flow erodes the soil, it effectively diffuses, transmits or decomposes the concentrated stress, preventing the soil from being damaged by external forces and thus protecting the soil.
6: Puncture-resistant
When combined with geomembrane, it becomes a composite waterproof and anti-seepage material, which plays a role in preventing puncture. High tensile strength, good permeability, good air permeability, high temperature resistance, frost resistance, aging resistance, corrosion resistance, and no insect damage. Polyester staple needled geotextile is a widely used geosynthetic material. It is widely used in railway subgrade reinforcement, highway pavement maintenance, sports venues, embankment protection, isolation of hydraulic structures, tunnels, coastal tidal flats, reclamation, environmental protection and other projects.
