Waterproof blanket, bentonite composite waterproof blanket (GCL) is a new type of geosynthetic material. It is a carpet-like waterproof membrane made by mixing graded natural sodium-based bentonite particles with corresponding admixtures as raw materials. Through needling technology and equipment, the bentonite particles are fixed between geotextiles and plastic woven fabrics. Bentonite waterproof blanket not only possesses all the characteristics of geotechnical materials but also has excellent waterproof (seepage) performance.
It has excellent waterproof and anti-seepage performance, with an anti-seepage hydrostatic pressure of over 1.0MPa, a permeability of 5×10-11m/s, and a bentonite mass of 5kg/m ² per unit area. Bentonite is a natural inorganic material that will not undergo aging reactions and has good durability. And it will not cause any adverse impact on the environment, making it an environmentally friendly material
2. It possesses all the characteristics of geotextile materials, such as separation, reinforcement, protection, and filtration. The construction is simple and not restricted by the construction environment temperature, and it can also be constructed below 0℃. During construction, simply lay the GCL waterproof blanket flat on the ground. When constructing on vertical or inclined surfaces, fix it with nails and washers and overlap it as required.
3. Easy to repair; Even after the waterproofing (seepage prevention) construction is completed, if the waterproof layer is accidentally damaged, as long as the damaged area is simply repaired, the perfect waterproof performance as before can be restored.
